Apprentice Electro-Mechanical Engineer

We are delighted to have been selected to work in partnership with Thames Water to deliver fantastic infrastructure to make things better for current and future generations. 

You will be given the opportunity to gain qualifications right up to degree level including professional associations and work on exciting projects in an environment that excites you with all the support mechanisms in place.

This role is within Infrastructure which is our civil engineering business focusing on small and medium scale works across the UK with expertise in Water, Environmental and Highways collaborative frameworks.

All projects will be based within the Thames Water catchment area.

What you will be studying

Depending on the level of entry you will be studying towards a Level 3 Engineering Technician or a Level 6 Electro Mechanical Engineer qualification 

What you will be doing

  • Working with our Project Engineers, our designer (Arcadis) and suppliers to identify, understand and successfully deliver electrical/mechanical solutions. 
  • Understand the relevant technical requirements and ensure they are adhered to.
  • Work with our Project Engineers and commercial team to understand the procurement process of all off and on site manufactured electrical/mechanical requirements. 
  • Work with our Project Engineers to closely monitor and understand the progress of off and on site activities to ensure delivery against agreed programmes and budgets.  
  • Work with our Project Engineers to ensure extensive testing is undertaken and witnessed of off and on site
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and environment on your projects to support improved wellbeing and performance. 
  • Learn about undertaking factory inspections and quality audits and ensuring the highest level of quality and customer satisfaction for all electrical/mechanical installations.  

What we'll need from you

  • Commitment to the apprenticeship programme.  
  • Excellent mathematical skills.  
  • Aim to develop strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills to ensure you can multi-task and consistently meet challenging deadlines.  
  • Aim to become Commercially astute. 
  • Planning and organisational skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of people. 
  • IT literacy essential.  

Salaries range from £12k to £16,795 depending on entry level
